OUR LEGACYMaking this event in the city of San Jose Costa Rica, the One Young World Summit 2022-2023, will be a great challenge for the country and a great pride for the social and cultural impact that it means for all the young people who participate.Costa Rica wants to share our sustainability achievements, those that have been recognized in all the nations of the world. Specifically we were recently named LAND CHAMPIONS for the organization of the United Nations for all our achievements and projects in relation to environmental sustainability: recycling, conservation and protection of natural areas, descar- bonization, tourist sustainability certifications, blue flag projects and other ones.We want to tell the world that this effort to conserve is possible even if we are a small coun- try, of the group of “developing” countries. We have set our soul on this goal and we have achieved it for ourselves and for the entire world. We must not compromise the needs of future generations.Today we want to go further, we can do it. We have a youth with enough strength to make social changes necessary to improve the quality of life of each individual.We say NO to corruption, YES to equality, YES to respect and the defense of human rights. We want a sustainable life, much beyond the environment, we are talking about the rescue of humanity's values: Honesty, Sensitivity, Humility, Respect, Responsibility and many more values.The world would adapt to climate change and in Costa Rica the fight for a sustainable world would be strengthened but we also want to work to be better human beings, more generous, more values, more full of goodness and joy. Our challenge today is to be better people.
